A large abstract mixed-media artwork by New York City artist Darinka Novitovic. Signed and dated 1980 on verso. Collage, paint, pastel & graphite on cardboard. Abstracted forms in coral, pinks, reds, yellow & turquoise. Bright and warm tones exuberate positivity and optimism. Darinka Novitovic is an artist and a hostess at Restaurant Florent in Greenwich Village. She is friends with artist Alex Katz and modeled for a series of Katz's paintings. She says, "Posing for Alex is better than going to a French new wave movie; it’s like being in one. I never thought of the finished works as portraits of me – just great paintings." Per the New York Times, "Her closet is filled with color-coordinated haute couture from the 1960's; she often wears gloves, occasionally long enough to serve as protective sleeves for golf clubs; her pocketbook always matches her shoes; she never swears. Friends describe Darinka Novitovic as a downtown Babe Paley." From a private collection. Dimensions: 60.5"h x 54"w x 2"d (framed). In very good vintage condition.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
